Prague's legend says that it was supposed to be a tremendous city which fame would reach stars in the sky. Therefore, it's no wonder that the city is full of unique architectural and sacred monuments.

During your city trip, you must see the Charles Bridge located on the Vltava River, which connects the Lesser Town with the Old Town - an unusual place from where you can admire the spectacular panorama of Prague. While in this charming city, you cannot miss the delightful Prague Castle, which is more widely known as Hradczany. Tourists visiting Prague for the first time are also amazed by the charm of the Josefov Jewish district or the beautiful Petrin hill. On the right bank of the Vltava, on the Vyšehrad hill, a beautiful Vysehrad Castle is situated, constructed during the reign of Kroka. The Old Town market is also worth of admiration, it was registered in the UNESCO list of cultural heritage and is now a must see for every trip to Prague. There is also a statue of Jan Hus, which was formed in 1915. In addition, the main attraction of the market is the Orloj astronomical clock located on the town hall.

The Charles Bridge

After arriving to this city full of with tradition, it is almost obligatory to take a walk across the Charles Bridge, which took its name after the mighty King Charles IV and replaced the previous crossing name: "Judith Bridge" its name since twelfth century. On both sides of the bridge there are countless sculptures depicting famous figures of this city, especially rulers and queens of past centuries . On the balustrade of the bridge there are thirty Baroque sculptures depicting famous figures including Jan Nepomucen who was executed on this bridge. Bridge is built in the Gothic style, it is 516 meters long and 10 meters wide. Entrance to the bridge is protected by three defense towers, one from the side of the Old Town and two from the side of Mala Strana.

Hradczany Hill - castle complex on Vltava River.

While in Prague, it is impossible not to see the Prague Castle, where the Czech kings once lived. This mighty and extremely absorbing building was created in the ninth century, and since the end of the First World War in 1918, every single Czech president lived here. Prague Castle was initially a small, wooden stronghold with fortified ramparts, and today its size and architecture leaves every visitor amazed. The main entrance to this castle leads from the market square in Hradczany. The center of the entire castle complex is the cathedral of St. Wit and the Basilica of Saint George, together with the 100-meter tall Tower of the Cathedral, which is an ideal vantage point for the entire city.
